Mustafa Ali officially requests his release from WWE.
Mustafa Ali came into WWE as part of the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament in 2016. In the years since then, Ali’s position on the card has fluctuated with major opportunities, such as pinning Daniel Bryan on SmackDown, coming his way as well as opportunities that did not amount to what he believed their potential could be, such as the RETRIBUTION faction.
Now, as of January 16, 2022, Mustafa Ali has officially requested his release from WWE. In his statement, he proclaimed that he has dreams that are bigger than the world of professional wrestling and he believes that he will not be able to share his greater message while still under contract with WWE.
I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE.
