Naomi knew from the first time she saw WWE that it was something she could do athletically. It took her some time however before she could present her true self on-screen.
Naomi is now one of the veteran names in the women's locker room of WWE. Making her first appearance on the all-women season of NXT in 2010, Naomi has been bringing vibrancy to WWE for a decade but it took her a good two years before she was allowed to bring “the glow'' too.
Speaking with Civilian magazine, Naomi reveals her first impression of WWE, how long she intends on wrestling, and fighting to bring the glow to television.
“I was blown away,” she recalls of her first time seeing the women perform. “I was like, ‘I know I can do that.’” Shortly after entering WWE developmental, Naomi told herself, “I like it, this is cool. It keeps me in shape, and it keeps me fit. So I’ll keep doing it until I figure out what’s next.”
In regards to her "glow" gimmick, that came on the back end of a heel run and at the beginning of the new WWE draft in 2016.
“It took me two years to get that on TV. I had been pitching it literally for two years,” she said of her current gimmick. “I just knew that was me, and that was what kind of set me apart.”
Naomi is a part of the SmackDown brand and made history this year as the first woman to challenge for a WWE Women's Championship in Saudi Arabia when she unsuccessfully challenged Bayley at WWE Super ShowDown.
