Natalya: "I’m Happy To Report That Our Money In The Bank Ladder Match Exceeded Everyone’s Expectations"

Natalya says the match exceeded everyone's expectations.

On June 17th WWE presented their 'Money In The Bank' PPV live from the 'Allstate Arena' in Rosemont, IL and on the match card for that event saw the third Women's Money In The Bank Ladder match featuring Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Lana, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Natalya, Alexa Bliss and Ember Moon.

The conclusion of the match itself saw Alexa Bliss emerge victorious and later on in the night she cashed in her Money In The Bank contract to become a three-time RAW Women's Champion. Despite each competitor in the match wanting to secure themselves a future championship opportunity, Natalya felt that all involved gave the best effort possible and the match surpassed expectations. In her latest blog post for the Calgary Sun, Natalya reflected on the bout--sharing her personal comments and thoughts on the match and how it was received by those who viewed it.

"This year at “Money In The Bank,” the other female participants who hadn’t been in a ladder match were feeling that same pressure and anxiety as I had the year before. Everyone was excited but nervous, as we all wanted this ladder match to be a success. Sure Lana, Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, Naomi and Ember Moon were my opponents and my competition in the match, but it doesn’t mean I can’t pay some of my experience forward in helping them succeed, too. The first piece of advice I gave the other participants was originally given to me by legendary Fit Finlay. He suggested we research the past and watch a few other ladder matches. I went back and watched one of the most famous ladder matches of all time with Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz from WrestleMania in 2000. This match was not only innovative, but helped to show off each Superstar’s grit, determination, creativity and athletic ability. Everything they did in the match revolved around that ladder and telling a compelling story.

I’m happy to report that our Money In The Bank Ladder Match exceeded everyone’s expectations, even topping the match from last year, which was pretty hard to do. This year’s match highlights included Naomi launching herself from the ropes to the ladder as she attempted to grab the briefcase, Ember Moon showcasing her agility by doing an impressive crossbody onto Sasha Banks who ended up landing on a ladder that was right behind her as the sold-out Allstate arena in Chicago gasped in unison. Sasha retaliated on myself and Charlotte when she got pushed off top of the ladder by Becky Lynch and landed on top of us. The WWE Universe started chanting “This is awesome!”
