The New Day comment on becoming heels once again.
Throughout their run as a faction in WWE, The New Day have been portrayed as both babyfaces and heels during their runs. Since December of 2024, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have been heels after turning on Big E.
While speaking to SHAK Wrestling, Woods and Kingston were asked about intentionally getting on the fan's nerves, with Kofi noting that it is the price of being a martyr.
"To be honest, we've always just been ourselves. This is the burden of the martyr. We always know that what we are doing is for a good cause, and whether the people get on board right away or they get on board later, that doesn't really affect us either way. Our job is to go out and do what we think is right, and we know that eventually the people will get on board too."
