MLW has crowned a new National Openweight Champion.
Alex Hammerstone, the first and only MLW National Openweight Champion, vacated the title after winning the MLW World Heavyweight Championship from Jacob Fatu. As a result, a ladder match was booked to fill that vacancy.
The competitors in the match were Alex Shelley, Myron Reed, Alex Kane, Zenshi and Wild Card entrant which turned out to be ACH.
After a hard-fought battle, it was Alex Kane who emerged victoriously, staking his claim as the second-ever National Openweight Champion. He was confronted by Calvin Tankman after the bell, but a physical altercation never broke out. Kane cost Tankman his Opera Cup Match against TJP earlier in the show.
