Giulia won the NXT Women's Championship at NXT New Year's Evil, defeating Roxanne Perez in the opening contest
The finish saw Giulia kick out of Pop Rox and then counter her way out of an armbar by rolling through. Giulia followed up with a knee strike and a northern lights bomb to pin Perez.
Cora Jade interfered in the match, but unlike in Chicago, the interference did not lead to a Perez victory.
