The first night of Emergence kicked off with a big title change.
Opening the August 18 episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Rohit Raju became the new X-Division Champion, defeating champion Chris Bey and TJP in a triple threat match. This is Raju's first title reign with IMPACT.

Raju had been teaming with Bey for a pair of tag team matches on IMPACT Wrestling in recent weeks, looking to position himself for an X-Division title shot. The loss ends Bey's title reign at roughly one month, which is one of the shortest X-Division title reigns since 2016. Bey had won the title at Slammiversary earlier this summer when he defeated Willie Mack.
