Nick Aldis will challenge for the IMPACT World Championship at IMPACT Slammiversary.
On June 9 at IMPACT Under Siege, Bully Ray, Jonathan Gresham, Heath, Nick Aldis, Moose, Mike Bailey, Rich Swann, and PCO competed in the first-ever 8-4-1 match. The winner of the bout would become the #1 Contender for the IMPACT World Championship.
The bout began with Bully Ray, Nick Aldis, Jonathan Gresham, and Heath winning the Tag Team portion of the match to advance to the next stage. During the Fatal Four-Way, Bully Ray tried to introduce a chair, but Scott D'Amore made his return and stopped him. Bully and Steve Maclin powerbombed D'Amore through a flaming table at Under Siege. D'Amore would ultimately hit Bully with a chair, setting in motion the conclusion of the match.
Nick Aldis would go on to win the match, submitting Heath with a Cloverleaf. Due to his victory, Aldis will challenge for the IMPACT World Championship at Slammiversary.
