The original Bullet Club shoots from the hip and says the current Bullet Club in New Japan Pro-Wrestling sucks.
The Bullet Club is a faction that has expanded and is featured in almost every major wrestling promotion currently. Whether it is AJ Styles in WWE, Finn Balor and Adam Cole in NXT, Kenny Omega, Matt and Nick Jackson in AEW, or The Good Brothers in IMPACT Wrestling, Bullet Club may very well rule the wrestling world.
However, the present-day faction that actually bears the name Bullet Club is still in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and on the most recent episode of Being The Elite, The Young Bucks and Gallows and Anderson had a little fun mocking the current state of the NJPW faction.
In the pre-credit scene of this week's episode, Gallows and Anderson were talking to Matt and Nick Jackson about competing in an eight-man tag team match (that was revealed to be heavily edited due to the antics of Doc Gallows) when they talked about how it felt like old times. Nick Jackson would say that it felt like 2013 and comment that it felt like the real Bullet Club.
“Not the 2021 version of Bullet Club, because we know it sucks,” said Nick Jackson. “This is not a storyline. We're not working with them. It's not going to happen.” Nick finished as Matt joked, “There's no EVIL here.”
Even though there is no agreed-upon working relationship between AEW and NJPW, some of their Superstars do have a clause in their contract that allows them to work in New Japan. For example, Jon Moxley will finally defend the IWGP United States Championship against KENTA on February 26th.
Despite what The Elite says, Bullet Club in NJPW still has one of their heavy hitters as Jay White returned to action on February 1. Learn more here.
