Nick Khan comments on allegations against Vince McMahon.
On January 23, WWE and Netflix announced a ten-year deal that would bring WWE Raw to Netflix beginning in January 2025. On January 25, a lawsuit was filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, WWE and former executive John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sex trafficking, emotional abuse, and sexual assault.
McMahon resigned as his position as TKO Executive Chairman on January 26 after Slim Jim paused its sponsorship ahead of WWE Royal Rumble.
Appearing on The Town with Matthew Belloni, WWE President Nick Khan was asked if the allegations would have killed the Netflix deal.
"I don't know about killed, but it certainly wouldn't have helped the deal. Those allegations are obviously horrific and serious and we take them and interpret them the same way any other reasonable person or organization would interpret them. You saw the quick resignation," said Khan.
Asked if there was any pressure from Netflix to have Vince resign, Khan said, "No."
Asked if Vince is still involved with WWE, Khan replied, "No. Zero. He chose to resign. There was no litigation."
Khan and COO Brad Blum were previously identified as Corporate Officers in the lawsuit.
McMahon has denied the allegations. He is under federal investigation.
