Nick Khan: We Think Our Performers Are Compensated Well, Management Wants To Manage Costs

On April 3, WWE announced a transaction agreement with Endeavor. As a result of the agreement, UFC and WWE will merge by the end of the year to form a new publicly traded company.

When the deal was reportedly nearing, Jake Paul tweeted, "UFC + WWE makes too much sense. Great path to increasing fighter pay."

Paul has been outspoken regarding UFC pay in the past, claiming many UFC fighters have made more boxing against him than they did during their UFC career.

Speaking on LightShed Live, Nick Khan was asked about the tweet. After saying UFC pay and how Dana White handles things is not part of WWE business, he noted, "In terms of our performers, we think a lot of them are well compensated. Certainly, all talent wants to be paid more. Management wants to try and manage those costs. Each individual deal is unique in and of itself. We're confident with our position in the marketplace in terms of our WWE superstars. Depending on what the rights fees increases on the media right, we expect a lot of that to drop to the bottom line."

On April 8, Fightful Select reported there had been an unofficial "hiring freeze" in WWE.

Elsewhere during the interview, Khan discussed Vince McMahon current role in creative. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
