This is Dar's fourth reign as NXT Heritage Cup Champion. King held the cup for 126 days and made four successful defenses.
This was Dar's first match since May 2024. He was sidelined with a leg injury.
King's cup defense was set up on Tuesday afternoon in a social media segment when he was given the cup back by Penn & Teller. King had to agree to believe in magic and then learned he would be defending the cup against a mystery opponent.
