NXT Star Suffers Possible Injury At TV Taping

Ember Moon suffered a possible shoulder injury during the latest set of television tapings for NXT, held last night at Full Sail University in Orlando.

Moon was competing in a battle royal, where the winner would earn a shot at Asuka and the NXT Women's Title at the upcoming Takeover event on May 20 in Chicago. Moon got knocked off the top rope to the floor near the end of the match, and, according to eyewitness accounts, struck the guardrail with her shoulder. Moon stayed down after the fall, crying, and had to be helped to the back by referees and medical personnel.

The Women's Title match is just one of several major matches for the next Takeover event that were confirmed or set up during the tapings.

Moon, who was trained by Booker T and went by Athena during her run on the independent circuit prior to signing, unsuccessfully challenged Asuka for the NXT Title at the last Takeover event, which was held the night before WrestleMania 33. Asuka had to bend the rules to defeat Moon, which marked her only loss by pin or submission since debuting on camera for NXT. Asuka, meanwhile, has yet to suffer a loss by pin or submission.
