Orange Cassidy credits watching all wrestling styles as helping to shape him as a performer.
Cassidy is truly a one of a kind talent in the world of professional wrestling. The true embodiment of "work smarter, not harder", Cassidy has captured the imagination of many wrestling fans through his unique offense. Cassidy has shown that he can do it all in the ring, with his technical prowess shining through in recent months while his speed and agility is also an important factor into what makes Cassidy such a fan favorite performer.
While speaking to Under The Ring, Cassidy discussed his influences in wrestling, noting that while he watched all wrestling styles, he was heavily influenced by ECW, which opened the door to other styles of professional wrestling for the two time AEW International Champion.
"I think I watched all the wrestling I could possibly watch. I watched all different styles, all different things. I think that's what helped shape me. I couldn't really say I watched one thing. Obviously, you know ECW was a big influence because I was at that perfect time of a fan when they were blowing up that it was like, 'Oh yeah, this is awesome. Then when I got into that, I got opened up to the whole world of British wrestling and Japanese wrestling and Lucha Libre and so I think it all helped shape me because I don't like just one thing, I like it all."he said
When asked if he was a tape trader, Cassidy simply replied "No, my friends would, and I just borrowed them."
Cassidy has been aligned with current FTW Champion HOOK recently, who's father is all too familiar to Orange Cassidy, as his father Taz was a staple of ECW programming in the 90s.
Elsewhere in the same interview, Cassidy stated that wrestling Jon Moxley is "never fun." You can read more here.
