The first match for the May 20 episode of AEW Rampage has been announced.
During the May 13 episode of Rampage, Jade Cargill and The Baddies (Red Velvet & Kiera Hogan) came to the ring to speak with Tony Schiavone about Red Velvet's quarterfinal match in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Velvet was supposed to face Hikaru Shida, but the former AEW Women's Champion suffered an undisclosed injury in her Philly Street Fight against Serena Deeb and can no longer compete. Jade and her attorney, Smart Mark Sterling stated their belief that Red Velvet should receive a bye to the semi-finals.
Tony Schiavone, however, informed them that Tony Khan has found a replacement. He then introduced Velvet's longtime friend, Kris Statlander. The match between Velvet and Statlander will take place on May 20 with the winner moving on to face Ruby Soho in the next round.
