During a media roundtable to promote NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II, Triple H was asked about Edge and Paige potentially make an in-ring return. During his answer, Triple H said that the number one thing is the health of the performer. At the end of his answer, he joked, "Edge has kids, Paige, maybe, she probably has some she doesn't know of."
The joke didn't go over well with Paige and other WWE talent including Renee Young and Nikki Bella. Paige wrote on Twitter, "Even my boss jokes about me.. no wonder you guys still do it too" while Renee added, "Big love to Paige. She’s been to hell and back but still some people wanna make jokes. We need (and she deserves) real change."
Speaking to Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda, Paige elaborated a bit on the situation.
"Obviously, I was a little bit perplexed and taken back because he's someone that I look up to. He's always been very respectful. I think he got caught up in a joke and I don't think it was appropriate to joke about. It's just something I'm not going to continually talk about. People on the Internet have done a pretty good job at it. He's definitely reached out and we're gonna be talking about some things," she said.
Triple H has not issued a public comment on the situation. Paige was not present for WWE Backstage on Tuesday as she is currently in England promoting WWE's move to BT Sport.
