Pat McAfee stepped away from his role as an announcer on WWE SmackDown in September 2022 to join the crew on ESPN College Gameday.
McAfee returned to the company at WWE Royal Rumble, joining Michael Cole and Corey Graves at the commentary table, but hasn't been back since the premium live event. Wade Barrett has continued to fill in for McAfee on WWE SmackDown.
Taking to Twitter, McAfee contemplated his future in WWE.
"Baby girl on the way… what’s that mean for my future with @WWE? I LOVE it but, they’re allegedly gonna be sold, who’s buying them? Do I want to work/make money for those people?" he wrote.
Man… brain’s been COOKIN

WWE has been open about the fact that the company is exploring sale avenues.
Nick Khan said in early February that a sale could happen in maybe three months. You can find his comments by clicking here.
