Adam Pearce's job could be in jeopardy.
On the latest episode of Talking Smack, Paul Heyman informed the WWE Official that if he doesn't announce the main event for Raw at the Elimination Chamber this coming Monday, then he may as well pack his bags and go home. Here is what he said:
"Here's a bit of inside intel for you. If you're not fired by next Tuesday or Wednesday, then Roman Reigns and I will have the distinct honor and pleasure of watching you get fired live, next Friday on SmackDown. Now you may think that's hyperbole. You may think that's a bluff. Let me lay it out for you. Edge, under your watch, is pulling everybody's strings. The tail is wagging the dog. Edge manipulating this situation so that everyone has to wait for him to make his answer, to make his decision, is putting you on a direct path to the unemployment line."
Pearce has been at odds with The Tribal Chief ever since he booked a Gauntlet Match to determine the number one contender to Reigns' Universal Title. Heyman took this opportunity to remind Pearce that WWE moves forward without anybody standing in its way. He believes that the moment Edge did not give his answer to Drew McIntyre, the main event for Raw at the Elimination Chamber should have been booked. The fact that he is preventing the company from starting its marketing campaign puts him in a compromising position.
"This Monday night, you will show up on Monday Night Raw, and you have no choice but to announce a main event for Raw for the Elimination Chamber PPV. You have no choice but to announce Drew McIntyre's opponent as the Raw main event for the Elimination Chamber. If you don't, Mr. Pearce, you have put yourself in a position that next week you will either be heading towards a major advertising campaign for the main event from Raw at the Elimination Chamber or, you sir, will be heading straight to the unemployment line."
The show ended with Heyman proclaiming that Sonya Deville has a "mad crush" on him and would love to be put in a position to makes all the decisions on SmackDown. Pearce has to make his next move wisely, but as we saw with the card subject to change provision that replaced him with Kevin Owens in the Last Man Standing Match at the Royal Rumble, WWE's on-air authority figure knows how to work the system.
Talking Smack is available to watch on the free version of the WWE Network.
