WWE SmackDown has bolstered its roster with a longtime NXT Superstar.
On March 11, Sheamus and Ridge Holland were interviewed prior to their match against Big E and Kofi Kingston and revealed that they brought along one of their friends. They said that we might know him by a different name, but to them, he's Butch. The former Pete Dunne then walked into the frame and left for ringside with Sheamus and Holland.

Dunne last competed on the March 1 episode of NXT 2.0 in a North American Title Match against Carmelo Hayes. He had spent the past couple of months feuding with Tony D'Angelo, ultimately winning their final encounter which was a Weaponized Steel Cage Match.
During his time on the black and gold brand, Dunne held the Tag Team Titles alongside Matt Riddle. He is also a former NXT UK Champion. Dunne previously worked dark matches ahead of SmackDown but had not appeared on main roster programming before tonight.
