Powerhouse Hobbs: I Was Standing On Top Of The Ladder Looking Like The Jesus Statue Holding The Ring

Powerhouse Hobbs became the Face of the Revolution when he won the Face of the Revolution ladder match on the March 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Hobbs trucked through the ladder, breaking it in the process, to prevent Konosuke Takeshita from climbing the ladder and winning. Referees held the ladder up for Hobbs to climb in order to secure the ring. Hobbs ended up standing on the top of the ladder to retrieve the ring.

Speaking on the Deuce and Mo podcast, Hobbs said the Face of the Revolution ladder match was the biggest moment of his career and reflected on standing on top of the ladder.

"Right now, at this moment, winning the Face of the Revolution ladder match in San Francisco. It can't get better than that because I'm standing at the top of this ladder, where it says do not stand. [Speaking about the ladder being bent], I hit it hard. I wear a size 14 shoe and my feet over this ladder. I'm an athlete, I have balance. I'm standing there looking like the Jesus statue holding [the ring]," he said.

When asked what was going through his mind, Hobbs said, "It's live TV. I'm going to climb up there and get it. If something would have happened, I would have fallen on our officials."

Fortunately, Hobbs was able to make it down without falling onto the officials.

Hobbs will challenge Wardlow for the AEW TNT Championship on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.
