Chris Jericho has been with AEW since its inception and is credited by Tony Khan for being a cornerstone of the company and helping get the promotion off the ground. Jericho was the biggest star signed when the company held its inaugural press conference in January 2019.
Jericho has occupied a regular role on television and provided help behind the scenes. Jericho signed a three-year extension with AEW on October 18 with the press release stating Jericho would take on increased responsibilities behind the scenes and will now serve as a producer and creative advisor while continuing to mentor young talent.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Preston Vance praised Jericho for his willingness to help talent.
"I take it either way," Vance said when asked if he's more likely to seek out advice or have veterans come to him. "I've gone up to people and asked them, and they've come up to me. I appreciate any feedback. Guys like you [Mark Henry], Jericho, Big Show, Taz, all these guys made a lot of money in this business, why wouldn't you listen? Jericho is one I go to the most about stuff, just to pick his brain, storyline stuff. He is so beyond willing to help all the younger talent. He's someone who doesn't have to, he's a friggin' rockstar, but he's been great with me and helped me pretty significantly the past eight months. I love getting advice. If you're in your own lane forever, you don't know if stuff is working or not."
Vance is set to challenge for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship on Friday's AEW Rampage when he competes in a triple threat bout against reigning champion Orange Cassidy and RUSH.
Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Rampage beginning at 10 p.m. ET on Friday.
