AEW Dynamite was just about to go off the air with Samoa Joe hoisting the Ring Of Honor Television Title over Minoru Suzuki, the man he had just defeated in a brutal match. But then the lights went out, came back on, and there was former NBA Draftee Satnam Singh towering over Joe in the ring alongside Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt.
Singh's debut was met with fan criticism on multiple levels, even leading the crowd to chant 'We Don't Know You'. However, QT Marshall, who is the head trainer at the Nightmare Factory, is asking the AEW fan base to just give Singh a chance.
Speaking to Busted Open Radio on Thursday, Marshall had high praise of Singh.
"Satnam Singh. He’s one in a billion,” Marshall said. “He was the first-ever Indian-born NBA draftee from India, and you know, he’s really special. I’m excited that they got him out there, and you know, obviously, I read some of the stuff that people were saying about him. Listen, he’s brand new. You’ve gotta give him a chance. I think the best way to put someone out there is, to put him out there with guys with a lot of experience. Nobody knows what he’s going to do. It’s not like he’s going for the World Title right now.”
Marshall also marveled at the height of Singh, saying he "probably got an inch or two on [Shaquille O’Neal].
