Truth wants the title to help everyone.
Since the introduction of the WWE 24/7 Championship on the May 20th edition of Monday Night RAW, the title has created opportunity for the likes of Drake Maverick, Jinder Mahal, Cedric Alexander and R-Truth to shine on WWE TV. Drake Maverick has been able to add his real-life wife Renee Michelle to the mix of the 24/7 Title and R-Truth has been able to bring himself a great wealth of praise from wrestling fans for his efforts with the belt. R-Truth recently spoke with Yahoo! Sports and expressed that he thinks the 24/7 Title has made room for Drake Maverick, EC3, Jinder Mahal and more talents to develop new personas based around the championship.
“Guys like Drake Maverick, Jinder Mahal, EC3, these guys came up with their own gimmick with regard to the title,” Killings said. “Drake Maverick came up with the poster idea on his own, he took that leap. The company takes notice of that. When the opportunity is there, you have to let your creative juices start flowing and reach and grab for it."
R-Truth was one of many people backstage celebrating when Kofi Kingston won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35. R-Truth says he is proud of Kofi and added that Kingston's position in the company has done a lot for the urban community, African Americans and everybody in general.
“I’ll start off by saying how proud I am of Kofi and what he’s achieved,” Killings said. “He’s a tremendous athlete and friend behind the scenes. Kofi being in the position he’s in, its done a lot for the urban community, for blacks, for everybody in general. He’s not the biggest guy in the world but he’s got the biggest heart. He gave a lot of people hope. It’s very important today with millennials and the way things are, the way the world is, Kofi is a great example.”
While mentioning Kofi Kingston, this Sunday, Kofi will put his WWE Championship on the line against Samoa Joe at Extreme Rules.
