On the November 1 episode of NXT, R-Truth was helped out of the arena after jumping and landing awkwardly on a dive to the outside while taking on Grayson Waller. The bout was stopped as a result of the apparent injury.
On November 8, Truth confirmed he suffered a torn quad and underwent surgery.
On August 9, Truth posted a photo of himself at the WWE Performance Center.

It is unknown when Killings will be cleared for an in-ring return. He retweeting many comments from fans regarding his in-ring return and replied with prayer hands to a number of the tweets.

In January, Truth said that he would be back sooner than fans think.
In a video auditioning to be Chelsea Green's new tag team partner, Truth noted that he's working his way back to the ring.
