Three names advance in first round of WWE King of the Ring tournament.
Carmelo Hayes, Tama Tonga, and Randy Orton advanced to the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring tournament on the May 10th episode of WWE SmackDown.
Hayes defeated Baron Corbin in his first-round match, surprising Corbin with a small package to secure the victory.

Tama defeated Angelo Dawkins, who replaced an injured Bobby Lashley, in his first round bout. Montez Ford was taken out on the outside by Solo Sikoa and Tonga Loa. In the ring, Tama hit a jumping flatliner on Dawkins for the victory.

The first-round bout between Santos Escobar and LA Knight will take place at a live event over the weekend.
Orton defeated AJ Styles in the main event of SmackDown to advance, catching Styles with the RKO.

The finals of the King of the Ring tournament will take place at WWE King and Queen of the Ring on May 25th.
Orton will face Hayes in the quarterfinals while Tama will face the winner of Santos Escobar vs. LA Knight.
