Roman Reigns made an in-ring appearance during the final segment of the January 19 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown and ate an RKO for his troubles.
Even though Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight signed the contract for their Fatal 4-Way Match for an opportunity at the Universal WWE Universal Championship, Roman Reigns, through Paul Heyman, initially refused to sign the contract.
Roman Reigns would make his presence felt at the end of the night. After Randy Orton successfully defeated Solo Sikoa, Reigns would attack Orton from behind, laying him out with a Superman Punch. Roman would then sign the contract for the match at the WWE Royal Rumble event. Roman then tried to end the Night by delivering a spear to Randy Orton but he instead ate an RKO.
