It's no secret that Randy Orton owes a portion of his career to his father "Cowboy" Bob Orton. His dad's name helped him get in the door at WWE and afforded him opportunities that weren't afforded to other WWE superstars.
The least Randy can do is pay things back to his father, and he knows it.
Speaking to Steve Austin on Broken Skull Sessions, Orton discussed his relationship with his father today and wanting to take care of him now that he's one of the top superstars in WWE history.
"He would stay out [of the way] unless I would specifically ask him to watch something. He let me figure it out, but if I ever needed anything, he was always there," said Orton. "There were times where I would start talking about something to do with work or I'd start bitching. He was the first one to tell me to 'shut the fuck up, you're lucky to be there.' Short, sweet, to the point. The tidbits he would give along the way, I know it was valuable information. Exactly what those things were, I don't know. He picks me up, takes me to the airport, takes me home every week, to this day. That's our time, the 30-minute ride to the airport. We'll talk about the show from the night before. The older he's got, he's just happy to see his son is successful and tickled to watch my growth in this industry. I take care of him and my mom, help them out because I can. Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, these guys that hustled, I didn't do that. The least I can do is take care of the man who paved the way for me."
Bob Orton has made various appearances on WWE television alongside his son over the years. He most recently showed up in 2017 during Orton's feud with Jinder Mahal.
