Renee Paquette was happy to see The Miz win the WWE Championship.
Speaking with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Paquette commented on The Miz's work ethic and how she was floored when he pinned Drew McIntyre to win Raw's top prize at the conclusion of Elimination Chamber. She also noted how her time working with the WWE allows her to provide special insight about their performers when they appear as guests on her podcast, Oral Sessions. She said the following:
“It’s hard to not respect his hustle. I mean, love him or hate him, the guy busts his ass at everything he does. That’s sort of, it's my sweet spot having wrestlers on, especially from WWE. I know them all so well, so I see all the stuff that happens behind the scenes. I know the work that he’s putting in and that’s something especially once he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract, wins the WWE Championship, it floored me. I was like, ‘oh my God!’ Legit popped for it, like, ‘oh shit, this is awesome.’"
Unfortunately for Miz, he would lose the belt to Bobby Lashley just a couple of weeks later, but Paquette was fortunate enough to speak with him after the victory and celebrate all of his achievements. For as much as people like to disparage certain Superstars, Paquette wants to remind and highlight how hard everyone in the WWE works. This is what she said:
“And then to be able to have him on and to be able to celebrate that hard work, and just that decade journey of being in that spot before heading into WrestleMania to where he’s at now. This dude just never takes a day off. This guy is always just working so hard at everything he does, from doing 'Miz & Mrs.,' to wrestling. I just want to highlight those things because as much as some people can get sh*t on by WWE fans or people think they’re not deserving of something or whatever, it’s like, no, these guys, everyone there busts their ass, obviously, but somebody like Mike, to see him and the success [he's had] is really, really cool.”
The Miz is scheduled to compete against Grammy Award winner and former 24/7 Champion Bad Bunny at WrestleMania 37.
