All Elite Wrestling will reportedly be running an event in a new Long Island Arena just days after WWE runs their own debut event in the arena.
The growth of AEW is unlike anything seen in professional wrestling in quite some time with the brand going from a startup promotion to the solidified North American alternative to WWE in two years.
Recently, the promotion has not only grown its roster with the addition of names such as CM Punk and Christian Cage, but it has grown its television footprint as well with the addition of the new Rampage program every Friday night on TNT.
AEWIs looking to make its New York City debut on September 22 with AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. However, that is not the only time they will be running in the New York City area this calendar year.
According to a new report from Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer, AEW has booked the new UBS Arena in Long Island, NY for a Dynamite episode on December 8. WWE has booked Monday Night Raw in the new venue just one week prior on November 29.
The new arena broke ground in 2019 and will be the home of the New York Islanders hockey team.
Fightful will continue to monitor the story and report any and all schedule changes as they happen for all wrestling brands.
