Report: Bandido Turned Down WWE Offer To Sign With ROH

Lucha star Bandido went with Ring of Honor despite having offers on the top from WWE and All Elite Wrestling.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Bandido turned down offers from WWE and AEW before signing with ROH. WWE reportedly offered him a low salary to start, but came back with a second offer that was “dramatically higher” once they found out the terms of ROH's contract offer. WWE's second offer was still lower than ROH's final offer.

Bandido reportedly went with ROH as they offered him less dates, allow him to continue to work outside of the United States, and give him an avenue to enter NJPW. Bandido currently works for Dragon Gate, but is scheduled to finish up with the company on Dec. 23.

AEW could not make him an official contract offer as they are not yet up and running. Bandido was part of the six-man tag team main event at All In and got a lot of shine in the bout despite taking the pinfall.

News of Bandido signing with ROH was first reported by Luchablog on Dec. 16. Terms were not disclosed. He is scheduled to start with the company in 2019.
