More fallout from AEW All Out altercation.
According to Nick Hausman of Wrestling INC, CM Punk's dog Larry was accidentally injured during the AEW All Out altercation between CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson).
The report states Punk's door was "kicked in" and the door accidentally hit Larry in the face. At a pre-scheduled veterinarian appointment a few days later, Punk was reportedly informed that two of Larry's teeth had been knocked loose and had to be removed.
According to the report, Punk's camp felt the scrum where Punk aired his grievances against Hangman Page, Colt Cabana, Omega, and the Bucks, "didn't seem like a big deal" and only escalated when his door was "kicked in."
Regarding the door being "kicked in," Fightful Select wrote in mid-September, "The Bucks were said to have pounded on the door, with claims that they 'kicked the door down.' Since then, those detailing the situation softened that stance significantly and indicated that instead they 'forced their way in.' We should note that even upon hearing word that the door was "kicked down/in," we asked the party if they were sure, and even contacted the NOW Arena to find out if such a thing happened, which they said they hadn't heard of, albeit a week later."
Wrestling INC's report continues by saying, "Punk felt threatened and reacted in a legal way under Illinois' Castle Doctrine laws, which allow for the use of force in defense of a person in their dwelling. At this time, there is no litigation against Punk on behalf of anyone involved."
Fightful Select reported in mid-September, "According to those close to Punk and Steel's side of things, Matt Jackson swung first but he missed and Punk responded. That stance later changed to saying they expected Matt Jackson to swing, but Punk did first."
Steel's wife Lucy, who was in the room, was reportedly not interviewed as part of the investigation.
The report also notes that Punk was asked to stay quiet after the altercation and agreed to do so. No one involved in the altercation has publicly spoken about the incident since it happened.
Finally, it's reported that there was distrust on Punk's part heading into his AEW Double or Nothing bout against Page over Page's promo comments leading up to the match. Punk was reportedly concerned the match would turn into a real physical fight. Punk defeated Page to win the AEW World Title at the event.
Omega, Punk, and the Bucks were suspended for their roles in the altercation. Steel was reportedly fired.
Fightful will continue to update fans on the fallout from the altercation when more is known.
