CM Punk didn't show up at IMPACT Bound For Glory, but he was backstage at the following set of television tapings.
Ahead of IMPACT Bound For Glory, fans started to speculate that CM Punk could made a surprising appearance at the pay-per-view on October 21. The event was in Punk's hometown of Chicago, and IMPACT often pulls out all stops for the show. This speculation heated up when IMPACT reportedly brought in Punk's trainer and friend Ace Steel as a producer for Bound For Glory weekend.
Though Punk did not appear at IMPACT Bound For Glory, Haus of Wresting reports that Punk attended the IMPACT television tapings on October 22. The report notes that Punk arrived shortly before the tapings began, and he was taken to the locker room area. Punk was said to have spoken with anyone who wanted some time with him, including "key IMPACT talent", throughout the taping.
Additionally, the report notes that Punk did not get to spend much time with Steel, who was working as a producer at the taping. According to the report, Steel was received warmly backstage.
The October 22 taping marks the second time Punk visited an IMPACT show in Chicago. As reported by Fightful Select, Punk was backstage at the IMPACT Wrestling tapings in Chicago on April 29.
AEW terminated Punk's contract on September 2, and he has been a free agent ever since. Fans continue to buzz about what his future holds in the wrestling world.
