It was reported on May 16 that Drew Gulak had left WWE after his contract had expired. Gulak reportedly asked for a raise and the two sides could not agree on terms, leading to Gulak not re-signing at the time.
Less than two weeks later, Gulak is reportedly back with the company. PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that Gulak and WWE have agreed on a new contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
On Monday night, Fightful Select reported that Gulak worked the SmackDown tapings for this week. The report said, "Gulak appeared in the ring with over a dozen other wrestlers, but his brief absence wasn't mentioned over the house microphones at least."
WWE never made an announcement regarding Gulak's departure, though they did move him to the alumni section of the website -- he is now back on the SmackDown roster -- and referred to him as "Daniel Bryan's training partner" on social media following his departure. Gulak had wrestled Bryan in the Intercontinental Title tournament on the SmackDown before news of his WWE departure had been reported.
Fightful will continue to update fans on the story if more information is known.
