As previously reported by Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, Edge reportedly signed a three-year deal with WWE for $3 million per year. He is reportedly committed to five matches per year, but needs to compete in atleast three in order to receive the full amount on his contract.

Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone first reported that Edge had talks with AEW. Vince McMahon reportedly told Edge if he were going to return, it would be in WWE, leading to Edge eventually getting cleared by a WWE doctor.

Both Meltzer and McCarthy have reported that Edge used AEW as leverage on his WWE deal.

Edge followed up his in-ring return on Sunday with an appearance on Monday's WWE Raw. In the closing segment of the show, Edge cut a promo about his future and was assaulted by Randy Orton.
