Longtime employee Gerald Brisco was reportedly part of the recent releases made by WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Brisco was released as part of the cutbacks made by WWE on April 15. Meltzer later clarified that Brisco was furloughed and not released. Brisco had been with WWE since 1984 and was best known by most fans for his time as one for Vince McMahon's stooges during the Attitude Era.
Brisco would go on to become a talent scout for WWE where he discovered Brock Lesnar and more amateur wrestlers who have been signed by WWE. Brisco appeared on the July 22, 2019 episode of Raw, where he won the WWE 24/7 Title by pinning his fellow stooge Pat Patterson.
Kelly Kelly pinned Brisco shortly after to win the title for herself.
