Things have changed at AXS TV.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Jim Ross and Josh Barnett will not be brought back to AXS TV after their contracts expire. Ross' contract is set to expire at the end of the year. It was previously reported that his WWE contract runs through March and that WWE would not allow him to sign a new deal with AXS. Ross would have been free to sign with AXS, or anyone else, when his WWE contract expires. However, Meltzer now reports that Ross won't be brought back by AXS in April when his WWE contract expires.
As for Barnett, Meltzer states that he is "at this point out for good." It's unclear whether it was an AXS or NJPW call.
Earlier this week, Ross tweeted that he was heading to Los Angeles for his final voiceover session for AXS. Ross was been with AXS since January 2016 while Barnett has been there since January 2015. They currently call the weekly NJPW on AXS show and live NJPW events in America.
AXS TV is expected to release information on who will replace Barnett and Ross in the coming weeks.
