Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal was sidelined for the latter half of 2019 with an injury and now says that he is cleared and just waiting to return.
Jinder Mahal at his last match on June 15, 2019 when he wrestled Mustafa Ali at a live event and ruptured his Patella tendon. Per an internal WWE memo, Mahal was due to be back in November and then Mahal expected a Royal Rumble return in January, but still has not returned as of this writing.
Now, there is some clarity on the status of Jinder Mahal. Chris Featherstone of WrestlingRumors.Net reached out to Jinder Mahal in an effort to see whether or not Jinder Mahal was going to be a casualty of the recent WWE releases and also to check the status of Jinder Mahal injury. The former WWE Champion said that he is cleared and is waiting for WWE to bring him back into the fold.
Undoubtedly, the peak of Jinder Mahal's career was when he defeated Randy Orton at the 2017 Backlash event to capture his first WWE Championship. After losing the championship to AJ Styles in November of 2017, he would have a WrestleMania moment by winning the United States Championship at WrestleMania 34.
Throughout his time as an active competitor in 2019, he was mostly seen chasing the WWE 24/7 championship, even winning the title a handful of times.
