The latest details on KUSHIDA's eventual arrival in WWE.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that KUSHIDA is expected to join NXT upon signing with WWE. KUSHIDA's contract with NJPW expires at the end of the month and it is no secret that he will be leaving the company in order to move stateside and join WWE. There were rumors that he would be part of the 205 Live brand, but as of now, it looks like he will be starting with NXT.
WWE has been interested in him since news of his contract expiring was first reported in early December.
Should KUSHIDA begin with NXT, he would be following in the footsteps of Shinsuke Nakamura, who also went from being a top star in NJPW to spending time in NXT before making his WWE main roster debut.
KUSHIDA's last NJPW bout will take place on Jan. 29 against IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi. He has been with NJPW since 2010 when he entered the annual Best of the Super Juniors tournament. During his time in NJPW, he's won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title six times and is a two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion.
