Report: Mercedes Martinez Signs With WWE

WWE just added a big indie name to their female ranks, if reports are true.

Martinez is the current champion of AWS, and their promoter Bart Kapitzke seemingly confirmed the news to SoCalUncensord, saying he'll likely have a tournament to crown the new champion.

In 2018, Martinez competed in what was billed as the longest women's wrestling match of all-time against Tessa Blanchard, defeating here in a 75 minute Iron Woman match. She participated in the first two editions of the WWE Mae Young Classic, making it all the way to the semi-finals of the first one. In addition, she's made numerous appearances on NXT TV, and competed in the Casino Battle Royal in August for All Elite Wrestling. She folllowed that up with another match on AEW Dark.
