Report: MLW Cancels 8/27 TV Taping In Texas, Event Will Now Be A House Show

MLW has reportedly canceled the TV taping that was scheduled for August 27.

Major League Wrestling previously announced that its El Paso, Texas, debut, titled "Fury Road", would be a taping of MLW Fusion.

But according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the event will move forward as a house show at Austin High School. He wrote that Jared St. Laurent sent an email to talents who won't be brought in for the show due to the cancellation. He told these talents that they would receive half of the pay "as a token of our appreciation as I know it's been very frustrating having the schedule change this summer while we continue to finalize the new TV deal."

The email noted that the "lucha promoter" would not be providing as many MLW talents for the show was initially "promised." However, MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alexander Hammerstone and Jacob Fatu, among others, are still set for the event.

MLW has already taped content from the Battle Riot event for its new season, which will premiere in the fall. The company has the scheduled Super Series event on September 18, and Johnson notes that this show is being viewed as a live broadcast if the company secures a deal in time.

Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.

MLW recently announced that Hammerstone will face Bandido at MLW Super Series. More information is available here.
