Report: MVP's Backstage Role In WWE Changed

MVP appears to no longer be working as a producer in WWE.

According to a report from PWInsider, MVP has transitioned into performing full-time and is not currently working as a producer for the company.

This comes after MVP first returned to WWE earlier this year and stated multiple times that he would start offering his services in a behind-the-scenes role. He previously said that he wrestled his last match months ago when he faced Rey Mysterio on Raw, but that was soon not the case as he has wrestled multiple times on WWE programming.

Months ago when speaking to Corey Graves on WWE After The Bell, MVP revealed who helped facilitate his WWE return.

"It arose from a conversation with Paul Heyman. My son is five years old and he's become a massive wrestling fan. As he calls it 'WW Wrestling.' First, it was 'Daddy Fight.' He's got the ring and action figures and with the Rumble being in Houston, where I reside, I thought 'what a great opportunity to give my son the memory of a lifetime.' Talking to Paul Heyman, it all came together," MVP said.

In recent months, MVP has served as the host of his talk show, "The VIP Lounge," wrestled and is now aligned with Bobby Lashley, helping him secure a WWE Universal Championship match against Drew McIntyre. That match will take place at the Backlash show taking place on June 14.
