Two distribution powerhouses have reportedly had discussions regarding potentially merging their streaming platforms.
According to a new report by The Wall Street Journal, Paramount and Comcast have had recent discussions about joining forces in the streaming landscape by way of a partnership or joint venture. Paramount is reportedly pursuing several potential strategic options and a partnership with Comcast is a potential choice.
The two companies previously came together and launched SkyShowtime in several European markets back in 2021.
According to the report, combining the two platforms could result in major cost savings from programming and marketing perspectives. Plus, the venture could offer a more comprehensive live sports package for customers.

Paramount+ is the streaming home of several Viacom properties including MTV, Nickelodeon, and CBS Sports. The platform recently provided an avenue for viewers to watch the Super Bowl as well as the 2024 Grammys.
Peacock is NBCUniversal's streaming offering and the home of WWE's content library and distributor Premium Live Events in the United States through 2026.
