Piper Niven returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble, dropping the Doudrop gimmick and reclaiming the Piper Niven name.
Niven wrestled under that name during her time in NXT UK, but her name was changed to Doudrop as she joined the main roster and was aligned with Eva Marie.
Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail reports that Niven knew about the name change a month before the Royal Rumble and it was decided that the Rumble would be the place for her return.
In August 2022, Niven revealed that she had conversations with Triple H about changing her name back to Niven.
Before her return at WWE Royal Rumble, Niven hadn't competed since the September 6 episode of NXT when she teamed with Nikki ASH (Nikki Cross) to defeat Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne). Doudrop and Cross would part ways shortly after with Cross reverting back to her old gimmick ahead of WWE Survivor Series. Niven revealed that a COVID-symptom health scare had kept her off television.
Niven will compete in a fatal four-way bout on Monday's WWE Raw against Carmella, Michin, and Candice LeRae where the winner will move on to the Elimination Chamber match at WWE Elimination Chamber and a chance to earn a Raw Women's Title match at WWE WrestleMania.
