The report states that Mysterio had been working through a torn meniscus for about three months.

Mysterio last wrestled at WWE Crown Jewel, losing the WWE United States Championship to Logan Paul.

On Friday's WWE SmackDown, Santos Escobar turned on Mysterio and the LWO, kicking the steel steps into Rey's leg to explain his injury on television. Rey was helped to the back by other members of the LWO.

Mysterio took to social media on Tuesday to say that he has undergone successful knee surgery.

Fightful will update fans on Mysterio's condition and return when more is known.

We wish him the best in his recovery.
