The return of Mysterio has been rumored for months and began to heat up when the former WWE Champion was announced as the featured pre-order character for WWE 2K19.

Mysterio was a surprise entrant in the 2018 Royal Rumble, coming in at No. 27 and eliminating Adam Cole before being tossed by Finn Balor. He also appeared at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April. Mysterio worked All In on Sept. 1, teaming with Bandido and Fenix in the main event against The Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi.

Since leaving the WWE in 2015, Mysterio has worked all over the world including Lucha Underground, AAA, NJPW, and a handful of Independent companies.

WWE recently teased a dream match between Mysterio and AJ Styles for SmackDown 1000 on social media.
