Ric Flair is doing better, but not well enough to be in Las Vegas this weekend.
TMZ reports that Ric Flair has dropped out of Starrcast II this weekend in Las Vegas. Flair was scheduled to be the guest of honor at The Roast of Ric Flair on May 24. However, due to his recent health issues, he will be unable to attend.
Flair is reportedly "in good spirits and confident he'll be okay after he undergoes surgery following a medical emergency last week." Many have checked in on Flair, who has "been cracking jokes and being his usual friendly self."
Flair was rushed to a hospital in the Atlanta area on May 16 for a medical emergency that was described as "very serious." Flair's son-in-law and Starrcast II organizer Conrad Thompson downplayed the seriousness of the emergency, saying Flair was taken to the hospital for a planned procedure that Flair elected to have prior to Starrcast II. The following day, Flair's wife Wendy Barlow shared that Ric's surgery had been postponed until Monday (today) due to "complications." Flair is still scheduled to undergo surgery at some point today.
**UPDATE**
According to TMZ Sports, the two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair has undergone the scheduled heart procedure and Flair's wife Wendy Barlow told the publication that doctors said the surgery was a success. Flair is still on the outs for his Celebrity Roast session at Starrcast II in Las Vegas but doctors are optimistic that he'll make a full recovery.
**UPDATE 2***
TMZ Sports reports that Flair has been discharged from the hospital.
