Report: Samoa Joe Permanently Replaces Jerry Lawler On Commentary

Samoa Joe has a current position on the Monday Night Raw announce team according to new reports.

According to a new report by Dave Meltzer of the wrestling Observer Newsletter, Samoa Joe is now permanently replacing WWE Hall of Famer Jerry The King Lawler on the Raw commentary team.

This is Joe's second time on the commentary team for WWE Raw, he was initially added to the team after Dio Maddin was taken out by Brock Lesnar and removed shortly after Christmas when Seth Rollins took aim at Joe during his rivalry with Kevin Owens.

Samoa Joe would return to commentary while injured because Jerry Lawler Had gotten backlash after making a racially insensitive comment during an Akira Tozawa bout, calling his move, "a Ramen Noodle moonsault."

The new report from Dave Meltzer says that Samoa Joe has yet to be cleared for a return to the ring but that his new position behind the microphone may see him blending the two worlds just like Jerry Lawler did in the 1990s.

Former Raw commentator, Dio Maddin was recently used in the audience during this past week of television, now the WWE is experimenting with using its Superstars in the crowd.
