Santana is reportedly nearing his return to the ring.
Santana has been sidelined for nearly a year, as he went down with a torn ACL during the Blood and Guts match on the June 29, 2022, episode of AEW Dynamite. Fightful Select recently reported that he is still with AEW, and the company has continued to pay him throughout his absence.
Santana has been absent from in-ring action for almost an entire year, with the tag team specialist suffering a knee injury during a Blood and Guts match with the Jericho Appreciation Society on June 6th, 2022.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Santana is going to be ready to return soon. He noted that, given the reported falling out between Santana and Ortiz, it's unclear where he'll slot in once he comes back.
In recent months, Ortiz has not competed frequently on AEW TV; he hasn't wrestled on AEW programming since the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match on the March 1 episode of AEW Dynamite. He also lost to Brian Cage on the April 6 episode of ROH on HonorClub, and he hasn't wrestled since.
Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
