Report: Seth Rollins Dealing With Back Injury, AJ Styles Has A Hernia

Updates on the conditions of AJ Styles and Seth Rollins.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Rollins is currently dealing with a back injury. The injury is reportedly not considered serious but WWE wants to keep him rested prior to WrestleMania 35, where he is scheduled to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title. Rollins didn't work WWE live events over the weekend and POST Wrestling's John Pollock reports that Rollins will be used in a non-physical role over the next month. PWInsider reported that Rollins was backstage at Monday's Raw. However, he did not appear on television.

Meltzer also reports that AJ Styles is suffering from a hernia that kept him off live events this past weekend. Styles is currently advertised to appear on tonight's episode of SmackDown and is being advertised to appear at the live events this upcoming weekend. Fightful has spoken to backstage sources who have no knowledge of this alleged injury. He is also scheduled to wrestle at WWE Elimination Chamber on Feb. 17. Styles is currently booked to compete inside the Elimination Chamber against Daniel Bryan, Mustafa Ali, Samoa Joe, Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy.

Over the weekend, there were reports that Styles had re-signed with the company, but Styles took to social media to dispel the rumor. Styles' contract is set to expire in April. Fightful reported in November 2018 that he is negotiating with the company on a new contract that would allow him to work a lighter schedule.
