Report: Sexual Assault Charges Against Alberto Del Rio Dropped, Accuser Issues Apology On Instagram

According to new reports, the sexual assault charges levied against Alberto Del Rio earlier this year have been dropped.

With less than two months to go before he was slated to appear in court to address sexual assault and kidnapping charges, the serious charges against Alberto Del Rio have been dropped according to a new report by Mas Luchas.

Del Rio, Jose A. Rodriguez Chucuan, was arrested on May 9, when police responded to a report from May 4, he had become angry with a woman and assaulted her causing multiple injuries.

In the original report, the victim said Del Rio slapped her across the head twice before taking her downstairs and forcing her to put on a dress and dance for him and if she cried, he threatened to take her son and drop him in the middle of the road. He also allegedly became angry when she wouldn’t admit to being unfaithful. According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, following his arrest on May 9, Del Rio was held for about five hours before being released later that afternoon.

Police said Del Rio tied the woman's hands with boxing straps, put a sock in her mouth, and sexually assaulted her for several hours, using various objects. According to investigators, he also punched her in the back during the assault, causing visible injuries. The victim told detectives she does not remember much after he placed his hand around her throat.

Had he been convicted in the first degree, it could have resulted in a sentence ranging from five to 99 years or life in prison and/or a fine up to $10,000 .

According to the report, the woman who accused him issued an apology to his family on Instagram that translates to, “I apologize to the Rodriguez Del Rio family for the damages caused by my errors.”
